Who is eligible to participate in the TeamHealth/SHR CME/CE Program?
Any current and active TeamHealth clinician is eligible to participant in and receive credit for the CME/CE activities. However, in order to receive proper credit and ensure that a transcript is sent to you at the end of the CME/CE Credit Program Year, you must register once (and only once). Please be sure to contact TeamHealth Institute with any changes made to registration information or fill out the registration form again with the new information.
What is my ID Number?
This number is any 6-digit number you indicate and should be used every time you submit a response to an article. If you have previously registered or participated in any of TeamHealth's CME/CE programs, you may have already been issued an ID number. Contact the TeamHealth Institute if you are unsure.
Your unique ID number helps us to correctly identify who you are and credit you appropriately for the programs you complete. For instance, if your name were John Doe and there were four John Doe's in our system, we would not be able to correctly identify which John Doe to credit for completing the program unless you, as John Doe, have established and indicated a unique ID number on the registration form and used that number on all your completed activity response forms. Without that piece of information, we are unable to identify who completed the response and, thus, the response is thrown away as being no good.
The ID number can be any 6-digit number you specify, as long as it is very unique.
Is there a fee for this CME/CE service?
The TeamHealth/SHR CME/CE Program is available to TeamHealth/SHR clinicians ONLY as a Value Added Service. There are no fees to the participant. In order to ensure this, our system is designed to automatically exclude any response or registration received from an individual who has not established affiliation or has not indicated a correct and active passcode.
To further ensure exclusivity, each affiliate is sent a complete listing of all participants who have indicated an association with them for verification purposes BEFORE Official Transcripts printed.
How would I receive verification of the credits I have been awarded?
At the end of the CME/CE Credit Program Year (and after verification of your eligibility by the affiliate you indicated upon registration), you will be mailed an Official Transcript indicating all the activities you have completed for that period.
You may request a VERBAL verification of credits issued to you by contacting TeamHealth Institute.
How soon am I credited as completing an activity once I submit my response?
Responses to the TeamHealth/SHR CME/CE Program activities are entered into our tracking system within a week from the date we receive them. Usually, your response is sent to a server and stored there until the next day. Our office downloads (or retrieves all responses stored on the server) once a day in the morning on regular work days.
For example, if you complete an activity and submit your response after 9:30 am on a Monday, your response will not be "picked up" by our office until Tuesday at 9:20 am. Your response will be entered into our tracking system (which is separate from the web server) by Tuesday of the next week.
For your convenience, TeamHealth Institute strongly urges you to keep track of the articles you have completed. We are not responsible for any circumstances occurring beyond our control that may hinder our receipt of your response. In order to access proper credit, TeamHealth Institute must have proper documentation of the completed activity by the participant on file. You may be requested to submit copies of any response we do not have on file.
What is a CME/CE Credit Program Year?
The CME/CE Credit Program Year runs from February 1st of that year and ends January 31st of the subsequent year. For example, the 2002 CME/CE Credit Program Year began January 24, 2002 and ended January 26, 2003. During that time, participants were allowed to complete as many activities as they possibly could and be credited for completing those activities "in 1999".
However, there is a slight catch to this system. Most articles have a "shelf-life" of two years. However, you can only complete them once during their "shelf-life". In other words, if you competed the article "Introduction to Customer Relations", which expired at the end of September 2001, in 1999, you WILL receive credit for completing it in 1999. However, you will NOT receive credit for completing it if you decided to complete it AGAIN in 2000 and/or 2001.
What if I prefer to receive hard copies of the articles?
Because the TeamHealth/SHR CME/CE Program is a Value Added Benefit (no cost to the physician), hard copies of most the activities are not available.
